INFOhio's Digital Content

Learning Objectives
  • Identify INFOhio's resources which provide digital content.

Digital Content

INFOhio's digital content collections are available at no cost to Ohio's PreK-12 students, educators, and parents. Funding for the resources comes from several sources:

INFOhio and the Ohio General Assembly through the Ohio Department of Education: Through this partnership, INFOhio has licensed streaming videos, BookFlix, ScienceFlix, and Science Online. World Book eBooks have been purchased in perpetuity through this funding.

Libraries Connect Ohio: Libraries Connect Ohio (LCO) is a partnership of Ohio libraries and library organizations that work together to provide a core collection of digital content and library services to help all Ohioans. This collection of resources supports quality education, a skilled workforce, business growth, and lifelong learning in Ohio. By providing resources statewide, LCO can cost-effectively provide necessary information resources to all Ohioans, regardless of their location, age, education, or economic status. Resources in the Libraries Connect Ohio collection are evaluated and selected by school librarians, academic librarians, and public librarians. The resources are funded in part by a federal IMLS Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant through the State Library of Ohio. Additional funding is provided by the Libraries Connect Ohio partners: INFOhio, OhioLINK, and OPLIN.

The current Libraries Connect Ohio resources were selected and approved in 2023. The resources are scheduled to renew annually each summer until June 30, 2028. Renewal is contingent upon continued LSTA and partner funding. The current Libraries Connect Ohio collection includes resources from CultureGrams (ProQuest), EBSCO, Gale, Oxford, and World Book.

Future Forward Ohio: Future Forward Ohio encompasses the state’s strategic priorities for using federal funds to help students recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on students who experienced the greatest disruptions to learning. Resources licensed with ESSER funding are Capstone Connect, PebbleGo Next,  and The World Almanac for Kids Elementary.

In addition, more than 7,000 eBooks and videos were purchased, including Proquest eBooks, Gale eBooks, Infobase eBooks, EBSCO eBooks, Capstone eBooks,  Learn360 videos, and Highlights storybook videos. You can find these materials in Educator Tools.

  2. After looking at the Teach & Learn Flyer, what are three resources you would like to use in your classroom? Why did you choose these three?
  3. Who is one person in your school or district who can help you with digital content and technology integration? What questions will you ask them before continuing with INFOhio training?
