High-quality middle and high school science units from OpenSciEd are now available in Open Space. The 27 instructional units feature lesson plans, student and teacher videos, implementation guides, alignment to NGSS standards, simulations, and more. The high school curriculum and the middle school curriculum earned the NGSS Design Badge. The middle school curriculum also earned an all-green rating from EdReports for meeting several indicators of quality.
This chart shows the sequence and standards alignment of the instructional units in the OpenSciEd middle school curriculum
Because the instructional materials are openly licensed and available as files in Google Workspace, the curriculum is flexible to teacher and student needs and can be used as standalone lessons, units, or as a complete class. A free teacher account is necessary to view all materials and some lessons may require additional materials and equipment.
Open Space is a curation and collaboration tool from INFOhio that empowers educators to build community through groups, access curated collections, search for freely accessible instructional materials, and curate and share resources that promote innovative and collaborative learning.
